Iowa forced three turnovers and RB Akrum Wadley amassed a career-high 283 all-purpose yards in a 27-20 Iowa victory in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The win snapped Iowa's five-game bowl losing streak. Wadley, who was named Pinstripe Bowl MVP, totaled an Iowa bowl record 171 yards on five kickoff returns. The game was played in frigid temperatures, 23 degrees at kickoff with wind chills in the lower teens, and is the coldest Pinstripe Bowl on record. The Hawkeyes totaled 200 yards of offense, its lowest total in a bowl game win in program history. Wadley scored his 35th career touchdown, which tied Sedrick Shaw for second most in program history, on a 5-yard rush midway through the third quarter to even the score. Both teams traded field goals in the fourth quarter before the Iowa defense collected two turnovers in the final five minutes. All-American CB Josh Jackson helped seal the win by collecting his eighth interception of the season, tying a school single-season record, on Boston College's next possession.
