RECAP

The Hawks entered Columbus ranked #1, but hadn't won there since 1959. Iowa's undefeated season was washed away on a rainy night in Ohio Stadium. Ohio State blocked a punt early in the game for a safety (after an Iowa interception near the goal line), and a 57-yard TD run put them up 12-0. OSU added another FG after an interception. Ronnie Harmon scored on a short TD run to make it 15-7 at halftime.

In the 4th quarter, Jay Norvell intercepted a pass and returned it all the way to the OSU 19. Iowa went for it on 4th-and-1 at the 10 but were stopped.

Iowa was trying to rally in the final minutes, but a Chris Spielman INT (his second of the game and Chuck Long's 4th pick of the night) ended the game. He completed 17 of 34 passes for only 169 yards. Watch a distorted full game version here.
