W   57 - 52

The game was close early, but the Hawks started to pull away with a 14-2 run, taking a 9 point lead (31-20), but a Nebraska 3-pointer at the buzzer cut the lead to 5 points at halftime.

The defenses continued to dominate, as both teams scored only 24 points in the second half. Despite going the final 5 minutes without a field goal, Iowa was able to make key free throws and get defensive stops to pull the upset. The Hawkeyes had a 37-24 rebounding advantage in the game, and also made 17-of-18 free throws.

Bennett Stirtz led Iowa with 25 points, and Tavion Banks grabbed 10 rebounds. Nebraska's Pryce Sandfort made his first return to Iowa since transferring after last season, but was held to 13 points.

The win snapped a 13-game losing streak against ranked opponents, and was Ben McCollum's first ranked win as Iowa coach. The last win was an overtime win against #20 Wisconsin in Feb 2024.
