RECAP

The Hawks were expected to reach the tournament finals, but all hopes of winning the tournament were dashed early on. Iowa trailed the Bruins 22-5 after the first quarter, and it got progressively worse each quarter. Iowa was forced into seven turnovers in the 1st quarter alone. The deficit increased to 22 points at halftime. The Hawkeyes were shooting 7-of-28 (25%) from the field and 3-of-9 (33.3%) from 3-point range. They fell behind by 31 points after the 3rd quarter, and were outscored by 20 points in the 4th quarter. The 51-point loss was the biggest loss in since the 1970's.

Ava Heiden led Iowa with 15 points shooting 7-of-11 from the field. Addie Deal added 11 points while making three 3-pointers, tying a career high. Chit-Chat Wright added nine points to go along with five assists.

The Hawkeyes ended the day by shooting 17-of-61 (28%) from the field and 5-of-23 (22%) from beyond the arc. They ended with 19 turnovers on the game.
