RECAP

Troy Skinner's perfect shooting (4-for-4 on 3 pointers and two free throws) helped keep the 7th-seeded Hawkeyes in a game they often seemed on the verge of losing. He also helped minimize the scoring of All-American Keith "Mister" Jennings of ETSU (10th-seeded), who scored only 11 points (almost 10 below his average). Acie Earl led the Hawkeyes with 18 points, going 10 for 14 at the free throw line. James Moses also scored 14 points.

Iowa was down early in the game by as many as 10 points, but closed the gap to 4 by halftime. ETSU hit a driving lay-in with 1:45 to go to pull within two at 67-65. But the Hawkeyes' Rodell Davis stole the ball and got it to Moses, who scored with 1:22 left. Clutch free throw shooting held off some late 3's from the Buccaneers.
