It is mentioned in the 1906 gameday program that this game did not finish. Iowa refused to play the rest of the game after a bad call by the referee. Both the Ames and the Iowa linemen agreed that it was a foul, but the officials refused to change their decision. In protest, Iowa refused to play and left the field. That changed the score from 10-6 (Iowa was leading) to 0-6 for Ames. Iowa scored a touchdown in the first quarter and got 2 for the extra point. Ames scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, bringing it to 6-4, then Iowa scored again early in the 4th quarter to take a 10-0 lead.
