RECAP

Kentucky easily ran away from Iowa 94-69. The game was delayed about five minutes when a firecracker thrown onto the floor exploded under the feet of the Iowa's Andy Hankins. Hankins was the only Negro (as stated in the article) player in the four-team tournament. Hankins was not injured. Police questioned several people in the stands but made no arrests.

A crowd of 11,700 saw Cotton Nash score 27 points while sophomore Jimmy Rogers led the Hawks with 23 points for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa stayed close for the first 10 minutes, but after Kentucky broke a 15-15 deadlock with eight consecutive points, the Hawkeyes never got back into contention.
