Drew Stevens kicked a 21-yard FG with 30 seconds left, and the Hawks kept their West Division title hopes alive. The Gophers were poised to take the lead, but a forced fumble and interception by Jack Campbell with 4 minutes left kept them from scoring. Iowa jumped to a quick 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but struggled to score again. Spencer Petras played well in the cold weather, going 15 for 24 for 221 yards and rushing for one TD. The defense gave up 263 rushing yards to Mohamed Ibrahum, but kept Minnesota out of the end zone most of the game. It was the 8th straight win over the Gophers, and Iowa's 14th straight win in November (starting in 2019). The over-under betting line fell to 31½ points on Friday, which was the lowest ever posted for an FBS game. Kirk Ferentz pulled into a tie for third place in Big Ten history with 115 conference wins, matching Amos Alonzo Stagg (Chicago).

Illinois lost to Michigan, so the Hawks can win the division with a win next week against Nebraska.
