RECAP

In the 43rd Rose Bowl, the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Oregon State Beavers by a score of 35-19. It was a rematch of a regular season contest at Iowa City that Iowa won 14-13. Hawkeyes quarterback Kenny Ploen was named the Rose Bowl Player of the Game. It was the school's first bowl appearance. Iowa assumed an early lead on Ploen's 49-yard run. Ploen also completed 9-of-10 passes. Collins Hagler scored two TDs (9 and 66 yards) and totaled a game-best 85 rushing yards. Over 15,000 Hawkeye fans attended the game.
